Pembury Yoga Classes – From January 14th 2016

I’m excited to launch open yoga classes for all levels in Pembury this month.

Yoga is about 8000 years old and has developed a wonderful system to enable us to better deal with everyday life. Regular practice builds strength and encourages softening and flexibility. It incorporates both physical movement, breathing and relaxation exercises to give us a fantastic sense of wellbeing. Yoga allows to start wherever we are, as a beginner, as someone with experience – and even has plenty to teach those who have been practising for years.

I have created a lovely, calm, cosy space at Pembury Recreation Ground Pavilion. The location is quiet and away from the road allowing great relaxation and there is lots of room to spread out. Classes are set to calm music allowing you to enjoy some time out from your schedule. Plus there is lots of free parking available!

I was raised in Pembury and lived in London for the past 15 years, before spending last year in Ibiza. I’ve been practising yoga for seven years and have been teaching for the past year. I currently also teach at Pure Gym in Tunbridge Wells. I was trained by a lovely lady called Bridget Woods Kramer, who is in her sixties, and am confident in teaching mixed abilities including those recovering from injury or who are pregnant.

My classes focus not just on physical movement, but also on breathing and using mindfulness techniques to fully create a sense of calm and inner strength. Students leave feeling relaxed and with a greater sense of self and inner strength – you will certainly sleep well!

All equipment is provided including mats. Please bring some water to drink and a warm jumper or scarf to use during relaxation at the end.

The cost is £12 per class and 5 class passes are available for £50. At this time I can only take cash.

Classes are from 7pm – 8.15pm every Thursday

If you are interested, you are welcome to drop in or please contact me on 07796 697 574 or Further information can be found at or

Penns Yard Petition

Recently we have been asked to sign a petition in relation to the loss of Greenbelt Land in Pembury.

Before this we had heard nothing about this development, which will affect all of us residents in Pembury. Therefore it has been decided to start a Facebook page to post all the information in one place and allowing everyone in the village to debate the issue. It is of no surprise that this development has been instigated by senior management of Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, in full knowledge that the Trust made no contingency for housing needs for key workers at the new PFI hospital.

From the outset the Trust have were fully aware of the needs of key workers but decided to try and manipulate planning laws to have key worker homes built on their behalf.

There has been no consideration of schooling, roads, parking, Doctors surgeries etc. Pembury School is already at its limit & struggling to cope with student numbers already.

It is now time for those that live, affiliated, work or run a business in Pembury to be heard. Therefore please join the Facebook page and get your views across.
