Spring Meeting – 27 April 2016

The Speaker at the Society’s Spring Meeting on Wednesday 27th April will be William Benson, Chief Executive of Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. The title of his address will be “Opportunities and Challenges facing the Borough?” He will be talking about his role, and some of the issues and plans for the Borough. He will also explain some of the limitations, financial and other, that he is restrained by. He will also relate these issues to Pembury and take questions from the floor.

William Benson has been Chief Executive since 2009. Prior to that he held a number of senior manager roles in local Government. William has a background in international development including three years with the International Development Select Committee in the House of Commons and a period of time working within the voluntary sector. He is a past Secretary of the SOLACE (Society of Local Authorities) SE Branch and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA).

The meeting will be held at 7.45 pm in St. Peter’s Upper Church. All our welcome to attend (£3 for non-members). We hope to see as many people as possible for what should be a most interesting evening.
