Meet author Melody Foreman who will be talking about her new book ‘Bomber girls’

Risking their lives and flying in all weathers, the Bomber Girls were the women pilots of the Air Transport Auxiliary. During World War II they flew Spitfires, Hurricanes and Lancaster Bombers from factories to RAF bases across Britain. Melody Foreman’s book charts the story of these brave and dedicated women.

Historical note – Pauline Gower, who was instrumental in setting up the women’s arm of the Air Transport Auxilliary, was born and grew up in Tunbridge Wells
